Las nanopartículas upconversion (UCNP) comenzaron a desarrollarse a inicios del presente siglo, generando una gran expectación e interés por sus propiedades fotofísicas particulares. Las UCNP son nanomateriales capaces de producir el fenómeno upconversion (UC) mediante el cual fotones de baja energía (de la región del infrarrojo cercano, NIR) se transforman en fotones de alta energía (en la región del UV-vis). If color is a material that contributes to constructing architecture, white color determines a particular dimension of the project that corresponds to a precise idea of architecture, with specific principles on spatial and form conception, on ways of working with light; in contemporary architecture, white color still refers to ideologies and specific spatial and linguistic research. So it is interesting to understand its values and reasons, to know the products available for this idea, for which traditional technologies are implemented and new applications are developed with innovative expressive effectiveness.

Correlative study of structural and optical properties of ZnSe under severe plastic deformation

The effect of plastic deformation on the optical and structural properties of ZnSe crystals has been investigated. The optical properties have been monitored by cathodoluminescence measurements as a function of the deformation degree. Remarkable differences in the defect-related emissions from the most severely deformed areas have been encountered. Deformation of the crystal lattice of ZnSe, associated with slip phenomena, has been studied by means of Electron Backscattered Diffraction and micro-Raman spectroscopy. The relation between the deformation and the optical properties of the ZnSe crystals has been described.

Electrochemical Deposition Mechanism for ZnO Nanorods: Diffusion Coefficient and Growth Models

Fabrication of nanostructured ZnO thin films is a critical process for many applications based on semiconductor devices. So on understanding of the electrochemical deposition mechanism is also fundamental for knowing the optimal conditions on growth of ZnO nanorods by electrodeposition. In this paper the electrochemical mechanism for ZnO nanorods formation is studied. Results are based on the evolution of the diffusion coefficient using the Cotrell equation, and different growth models proposed by Scharifcker and Hills for nucleation and growth.
